Immerse

Everyone loves a good story.  How many times has a movie, a book or song made you feel something?  Something deep and meaningful or something you can’t even describe?

Stories have the power to take us on a journey.  They take us to places we have never been, introducing us to people we’ve never met.

And yet, the stories we connect with the most are ones in which we see glimpses of ourselves, glimpses of our own story.

There is an ancient story like this…
It stretches from the beginning of time, across our lives and into the future.
It is full of mystery, action, love, war, drama, laughter, death, miracles and life.
This story reveals to us the most beautiful way to be human…
Living in a greater rhythm of love, peace and sacrifice.

There’s a great author who continues to write this story and He desires us to find ourselves in it, discovering who we are and why we are here.

IMMERSE looks at this story in a new and creative way.  At first, you may feel like you’ve heard all of this before.  But trust this: if you dive into the story, allowing it to speak to you and shape you, you will see things about God and yourself that you’ve never seen before.

What is IMMERSE?

Through creative storytelling, learning stations, interactive experiences, discussion and worship, participants will immerse themselves into the whole story of God.

Immerse is a six day residential experience, with accommodation and catering included, and is presented by Youth Ministries Australia in partnership with local youth ministry practitioners.

Story of God …The Bible tells the whole story of God. The narratives, historical records, poetry, prophecy and letters all reveal who God is, and show us His continuous pursuit of a restored relationship with people.

One way to gain perspective of the entire Biblical narrative is to view it in seven episodes.

During Immerse, participants will creatively enter into each of these seven episodes, gaining a clearer understanding of the big picture of God’s story and begin to discover how their own story intersects with this GREATER STORY.

Daily flow … what you will experience during each day of Immerse…

  • youth worker connection … connect at the start of the day for a time of encouragement, prayer and direction for the day
  • enter the story … facilitated learning and discovery for each episode, featuring illustration and story-telling
  • engage with the story … small group facilitation enabling students to interact and find meaning within the story
  • participate in the story … groups participate in hands-on experiences and projects to further ground story episodes
  • respond to the story…evening of shared worship, personal reflection, response, testimony, debriefing and prayer
