His story had them scrambling. It became clear very quickly that he represented everything they despised. And the more he watched, and listened, and answered their repetitive questioning, the more he realised that the Pharisees were frightened.
Frightened by the outrageous notion that they might actually be wrong about Jesus.
They were wrong, and the once-blind man called them on it.
