Travis Johnson: Director
Trav is a husband to Pixi, and a Dad to four great boys – he likes green curry, a good game of football, and listening to David Bowie. He is passionate about seeing people experience God and become life-long followers of Jesus. Since 2008 he has had a particular focus on facilitating opportunities for people to discover God for themselves through the Bible story . After 12 years as a pastor in WA, Qld, and SA, then 5 as a missionary with Youth Ministries Australia, Trav founded the organisation AccessTheStory in 2014 as an initiative to see story-formed discipleship spread throughout Australia and beyond. Since then, AccessTheStory has enjoyed providing group story experiences and equipping for leaders across four states in Australia, and has begun supporting some mission activity in the Philippines. Trav leads AccessTheStory from a small shopfront between a hairdresser and a fish & chip shop in Adelaide.
“God’s story has far more capacity to bring transformation into our lives than any well-crafted modern story – because it is the greatest story of all time … this is a story to be experienced and embraced and retold. We have unprecedented access to the “screenplay of God’s story” … He is the greatest ever writer/producer/director, and He is intentionally including us in the ongoing retelling of His story, and mysteriously incorporating us into His plot as it continues to unfold.”
Pixi Johnson: Manager – junktion
Pixi loves her husband, loves her family, loves hospitality, loves cooking, and loves managing the recycled goods and coffee & cake store, Junktion.
Since before Trav and her were married in 1992, she’s been involved in ministry of some sort – from leading in the local youth group, to investing her energy in raising her four boys and supporting Trav in his endeavours, and now to the opportunities of community engagement in Junktion.
Pixi’s super-excited to be a part of the AccessTheStory team.
Matt is married to Rosie and is father to Connor, Brennan, Megan and Ashleigh. He has been involved in youth ministry for over 17 years, serving as a local church youth pastor, school chaplain and youth worker. His passion is to see young people become followers of Jesus and serve God’s Kingdom as servant-hearted disciples. He enjoys landscape and severe weather photography, fishing and the occasional soy chai latte.
Jess loves walks with her husband Simon, and being a Mum to Zoe. You’ll often find her caring for her garden, reading a good book or having a chat with anyone over good food or a pot of T2 tea.
Having served for many years as a youth leader in her local church, and also a missionary with Youth Ministries Australia, Jess is passionate about seeing the upcoming generation step into God’s story in a tangible way and live it out daily.
