Code of conduct

ATS believes that a life shaped by the Story of God will bear the fruit of integrity in behaviour and decision-making.

All team members have a duty to read and familiarise themselves with this Code and with any variations that may, from time to time, be made to the Code.

As part of their role and responsibility, Board members of ATS will assist in maintaining an awareness of standards of conduct and resolving ethical dilemmas. This does not, however, remove or lessen individual accountability for actions and decisions.

Personal Behaviour

Team members will:

  • Support and work to see ATS Culture, Ambition and Consequence fulfilled as expressed by ATS.

  • Act, and be seen to act, properly and in accordance with the requirements of the law and terms of this Code of Conduct.

  • Carry out their role impartially and in the best interests of ATS.

  • Accept and understand the duty to use reasonable care and diligence in fulfilling their role as a team member and responsibly fulfill the duties attached to that role.

  • Observe the privacy, dignity and confidentiality rights of other team members, the ATS community, and broader public.

Good Faith

Team members shall act honestly, in good faith, in the interests of ATS as a whole in the fulfillment of its Mission, Vision and Values.

Conflict of Interest

Decision makers must take responsibility for ensuring that they have neither a perceived nor actual conflict of interest when deliberating on matters relevant to the organisation.

Team members advising the decision makers must also take responsibility for ensuring that any perceived or real conflict of interest they may have in a matter under discussion is clearly enunciated.

Intellectual Property, Copyright

The title to Intellectual Property resulting from any operations of ATS will be assigned to ATS unless otherwise agreed by a separate contract.

Confidential Information

Team members will have access to personal, sensitive and confidential information about ATS and its work. Team members will recognise and keep confidential information, papers and discussions that occur in the course of their activities. This confidential information should not be used to gain improper advantage, cause harm or detriment to ATS or any other person or organisation.

Drugs and Alcohol

All team members are expected to be free from the influence of restricted or illegal drugs and alcohol when carrying out their responsibilities. Where team members are using drugs prescribed by medical practitioners, they will ensure that their safety and that of colleagues is not affected and that any impact on performance is properly managed.

Communications and Public Relations

All avenues of communication e.g., verbal, written or face to face, should reflect the status and objectives of ATS and its Mission, Vision and Values. Communication should be accurate, polite and edifying. If there is a requirement to provide information to the public or media on the policies and activities of the organisation, this comment should be made only by the Director or a designated Board Member. As representatives of ATS, all those engaged in its work should communicate appropriately the attitudes and decisions of the Board. The ATS Social Media Policy as adopted from time to time will be acknowledged and adhered to.

Carrying ‘The Story’

Team members will inform themselves about their relevant responsibilities and treat all members of the ATS community, and broader public, honestly, fairly and with respect. Team members shall not engage in conduct likely to have an adverse effect on the reputation of ATS. As such, a team member must comply with all laws and regulations. All team members shall provide a satisfactory police clearance prior to consideration of appointment in their role and this will be updated on a regular basis as required.

Care for ATS Property

Team members share the responsibility for caring for ATS’s property. Property must not be removed without authorisation or used for personal benefit or any other improper use.

Representing ATS

As part of their representative role, team members may be asked to represent ATS at conferences, events, or on Working Groups with other organisations.

It is important that team members:

  • clearly understand the basis of their appointment; and

  • provide regular reports of their activities to the Board.

This Code of Conduct is approved by, and may be varied from time to time by the Board. Variations to this Code of Conduct will be publicised to all ATS team members.

ATS may send out newsletters and other information including information from different associated bodies of ATS from time to time. If an individual does not want to receive any of this type of information, they should notify ATS in writing of their desire not to receive any further information. Any correspondence of this nature should be addressed to the Director.
