You see opportunities and ideas, but struggle with some of the pathways that seem to take you in other directions.
You carry discontent, and you wonder what to do with it.
Sometimes you even wonder how you fit.
Why are we looking for you?
Because we know you've got something significant to offer, and your voice and ideas are important for finding new pathways of mission and ministry. So we’re keen to walk alongside you.

What is the 'Misfit Academy'?
The first followers of Jesus might best be described as 'misfits'. Not expecting to be the ones picked for the Messiah's mission - yet here they are - traversing the dusty road a few steps behind Jesus.
Its not a stretch to say that Jesus is still inviting the least expected to travel alongside Him.
Misfits, every one of us. Invited to follow Jesus - joining Him on this peculiar pathway.
Not a program. Not a course. A Pathway.
The Misfit Academy is a twenty-one week leader formation pathway designed to equip INNOVATING LEADERS with a STORY-FORMED action plan in the three arenas of PERSONAL FORMATION, DISCIPLE-MAKING ENVIRONMENTS, and MISSION ENGAGEMENT.
Through a blend of online and in-person engagement, you'll experience three movements of content in three blocks of seven weeks:
- MOVEMENT ONE - GOSPEL - grounding in the story of God and sharpening your personal formation.
- MOVEMENT TWO - MOVEMENT - training in the leadership of Jesus and equipping for the formation of your team or tribe.
- MOVEMENT THREE - CULTURE - exploring the story of the early church and preparing for healthy neighbourhood engagement.
Participants will not only benefit from the content itself, but also the conversations had along the way in a learning community of peers and like-minded leaders. Who knows? You might find your people!

EMERGING LEADERS seeking to step into new pathways and try new things in new ways.
EARLY ESTABLISHED LEADERS ready to move beyond the barriers that make them feel stuck, and into their next season of fruitfulness.
How does it happen?
THREE SEVEN WEEK BLOCKS, each consisting of:

ORIENTATION OVER ZOOM (30 minutes)

FOUR WEEKS OF READINGS AND PODCASTS (approximately 2 hours a week)

ONE IN-PERSON INTENSIVE (6 hours)

TWO COACHING SESSIONS (1 hour each in preparation for ...)

GROUP STORY-TELLING OVER ZOOM (2 hour call)
How much?
The professional value of Misfit Academy is $2250.00pp
In partnership with your local church or ministry organisation, Misfit Academy can be offered at:
$1250.00pp for staff
$750.00pp for volunteers
Our upcoming pilot cohort can be accessed for $450.00pp
What's next?
Enrolments will soon be open for our pilot cohort, with the first movement of content beginning early term 4 (subsequent movements to be scheduled in early 2027).
